LCE 136 English for Finance, Accounting and Management Science I

The general objective of this 6-ECTS credit (European Credits Transfer and Accumulation System) required degree level course is to enable students to communicate competently at a Β1-B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for Languages. It is particularly designed to meet the needs of university students studying in the field of finance, accounting and management science. The course is also designed to equip students with the necessary language skills and specialized vocabulary required to effectively communicate and work in the field of finance, accounting and management. This course focuses on developing proficiency in English language usage and academic and technical writing skills specifically tailored for students of this department. Through a combination of interactive lectures, practical exercises, and hands-on projects, students will enhance their ability to comprehend, interpret, and communicate concepts  related to their field of studies in English, such as economics, finance, financial institutions, bookkeeping, auditing, management, leadership, etc. Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to apply their language skills to real-world scenarios related to their field of studies, work on collaborative projects, receive feedback on their communication abilities, and engage in discussions on academic issues and professional practices in their field. The course will cover various aspects of economics, finance, accounting, management science, as well as academic and technical writing.
